Yung Miami Speaks

For the first time since Sean "Diddy" Combs was slammed with a slew of sexual abuse cases, his former girlfriend, City Girls artist Yung Miami, has publicly discussed their relationship.
In an interview released Thursday, Aug. 8, for the season 2 premiere of her "Caresha Please" podcast, the rapper was questioned by her best friend, influencer Saucy Santana, regarding mental health and her relationship with Combs.

“I wanted to tell my truth, my story, on my platform,” Yung Miami said on the podcast, produced by Revolt, which Diddy founded but is no longer affiliated with.

When asked how she was doing "mentally," the 30-year-old rapper became tearful.

“I’m just all over the place. I’m going through a lot,” she explained.

“One minute I’m happy. One minute I’m sad. One minute I’m like f–k this sh-t. The next minute, I’m looking at my kids and I’m like, ‘I didn’t bring us this far to go backwards.’ I work hard,” the mother of two said through tears.

Yung Miami, born Caresha Brownlee, claims she met Diddy, 54, through shared relationships in the music industry.

The two were initially linked in 2021. They revealed their romance on her podcast in June 2022. That same month, she stood by the mogul's side when he received a lifetime achievement award at the 2022 BET Awards.

During his acceptance speech, she was visible in the audience waving a sign that read "Go Papi."

“People feel like I was Diddy’s biggest cheerleader and I made him my brand. And I felt like Diddy was on brand for me,” she said in Thursday’s interview. “I met Diddy when the world was celebrating him and giving him his flowers when he was alive. He was getting the (MTV VMAs) global icon award, the (BET Awards) lifetime achievement award, the key to the city. He had a new album that was coming out, so I was celebrating him with the world.”

But she claimed that since the legal cases charging Diddy of rape, sexual assault, and sex trafficking began to pile up, she has been "crucified."

“I just feel like everybody’s trying to crucify me for it… I was just celebrating when the world was celebrating him. So why am I being crucified, or why am I being separated?” she said.

When asked why she never spoke out about Combs' charges or the horrible footage of him violently abusing ex-girlfriend Cassie Ventura, Yung Miami explained that she did not have the same experiences with the tycoon as his accusers.

“I can’t speak on something that wasn’t my experience, and I can’t speak on something that I don’t know. I can’t speak on these allegations because I wasn’t around at the time,” she said. “I don’t know that person, and that wasn’t my experience.”

When asked if Diddy ever hit her, Yung Miami stated that she had been in two previous relationships with domestic violence and had told herself she would never stay in another abusive relationship.

“I don’t stand for domestic violence. “I’m just not going for that,” she said.

She said Combs taught her and advised her on how to develop an empire.

“I just feel like Puff was a really, really good person to me. I feel like he came and he helped me; he elevated me,” she said. “He saw a lot of things in me, and I feel like that’s one of his specialties, like, he knows how to find people and identify their talent. He was able to see more than music in me.”

Yung Miami then verified that the two were no longer together.

“When all of these things came out, I just needed to take a break and focus on what’s important and it was just me and my career and my family,” the rapper said.

Yung Miami also talked about the current situation of the City Girls and her future endeavors.
