The Piano Lesson is coming for Thanksgiving
On Wednesday, Netflix published the first trailer for The Piano Lesson, a widely awaited film.
"Do you feel that? That is your family. That's your bloodstream. inform your mother to inform you about the piano. "Ask her how those pictures go on there," actor John David Washington says at the start of the emotionally laden teaser.
In the film, Washington reprises his Broadway role as the brother who wants to sell the family treasure, a beloved piano, to create the family fortune in Pittsburgh in the 1930s.
His sister, played by Danielle Deadwyler, refuses to sell the piano and will go to considerable measures to save it.
Samuel L. Jackson reprises his Broadway role as the uncle, who tries to assist the siblings resolve their conflict, but his own past haunts him.
Ray Fisher, Michael Potts, Erykah Badu, and Corey Hawkins round out the cast.
Malcolm Washington, the brother of John David Washington, directs The Piano Lesson, which marks his directorial debut.

A legacy that lives on via the power of Danielle Deadwyler's Berniece, the vitality of John David Washington's Boy Willie, and the subtle genius of Samuel L. Jackson's Doaker," Malcolm Washington said in a statement on Wednesday.
His famous father, two-time Academy Award winner Denzel Washington, has joined the project as a producer, and their sister, Katia Washington, is one of the executive producers.
The film is an adaptation of August Wilson's Pulitzer Prize-winning play. This is the play's second adaptation into a film. The first time was in 1995, when Charles S. Dutton and Alfre Woodard led the cast.
The Piano Lesson will have a special screening at the Toronto International Film Festival on September 10th.
After that, the film will be accessible in select cinemas on November 8 and on Netflix on November 22.
