Relive Y2K for the Holidays

The trailer for the A24 catastrophe comedy Y2K shows Jaeden Martell, Rachel Zegler, The Kid Laroi, Julian Dennison, and Limp Bizkit leader Fred Durst attempting to survive New Year's Eve 1999.

The first trailer for the film, shown below, illustrates how the Kyle Mooney-directed comedy provides an alternate look at what could have happened in the year 2000 if the new year actually gave way to technology running wild.

In the film, it is not about the banks losing everyone's money; rather, it is about technology trying to take over the globe. According to the summary, two high school juniors who crashed a New Year's Eve party must battle for their lives alongside the partygoers after discovering that the new year has brought about pandemonium.

Y2K will be released in theaters on December 6, coinciding with the 25th anniversary of the Y2K pop culture phenomenon.
