Netflix has acquired Tyler Perry's 'Madea's Destination Wedding'. First looks have been released for Perry's other films 'Straw' and 'R&B'

Netflix announced a new Tyler Perry film, Madea’s Destination Wedding, along with first-look photos from the films Straw (starring Taraji P. Henson, Teyana Taylor, and others) and the faith-based film R&B with Tyler Lepley. The announcements were part of a presentation that began Wednesday, which also revealed key details about Perry's television slate at Netflix. These new projects represent Tyler Perry’s sixth film and second series from his creative partnership with Netflix, where he writes, directs, and produces films, series, and faith-based features.

Starring Perry, Cassi Davis Patton, David Mann, Tamela Mann, Taja V. Simpson, Diamond White, Jermaine Harris and Xavier Smalls, the new film Madea’s Destination Wedding has just been announced.

Here’s the premise : Brian and his ex-wife Debrah are shocked to learn their daughter Tiffany is engaged to a rapper she met on a yacht—and the wedding is in two weeks. Madea and her crew head to the Bahamas, stirring up chaos and heartwarming fun.

The film is written, directed and produced by Perry. Angi Bones, and Yolanda T. Cochran also produce.

First-look photos were also released for Straw and R&B.

"R&B," a faith-based film, is a modern take on the biblical love story of Ruth and Boaz. Set in Tennessee, it follows a young woman who leaves the Atlanta music scene to look after an elderly widow. In the process, she finds love and a mother figure.

"Straw," written, directed, and produced by Perry, tells the story of a single mother who faces a series of unfortunate events that lead her down an unexpected path. Struggling against circumstances beyond her control, she becomes entangled in a situation she never imagined and finds herself at the center of suspicion in a world that seems indifferent to her existence. Produced by Angi Bones and Tony Strickland, the film stars Taraji P. Henson, Tracey Ellis Ross, Sherri Shepherd, Glynn Turman, Sinbad, and Rockmond Dunbar.

The film, directed by Alanna Brown and written by Michael Elliot and Cory Tynan, stars Lepley and Serayah McNeill, with Phylicia Rashad, Kenneth “Babyface” Edmonds, Walnette Santiago, Nijah Brenea, James Lee Thomas, Jermaine Dupri, Lecrae Moore, Christopher Broughton and Yung Joc.

DeVon Franklin and Perry are producing, with Angi L. Bones, Tony L. Strickland and Bart Lipton executive producing.
