Chance the Rapper and Wife split

The ex-partners went on social media to announce the news, posting identical statements on their Instagram Stories. In their statement, the couple revealed that they have been living apart for an unspecified period and plan to co-parent their two daughters, Kensli Bennett, aged 7, and Marli Grace Bennett, aged 4.

“After a period of separation, the two of us have arrived at the decision to part ways,” their statement began. “We came to the decision amicably and with gratitude for the time we spent together. God has blessed us with two beautiful daughters who we will continue to raise together.”

They ended their statement by requesting "privacy and respect as we go through this transition," and signed both of their names at the end of the Instagram Stories.

This announcement comes nearly a year after fans suspected that the musician and his wife were having issues in their marriage.

During Chance's 30th birthday celebration in Jamaica last April, a video emerged showing the rapper dancing with a woman other than his partner. After the video became popular online, Corley posted on her social media accounts a quote by Maya Angelou about people who are having difficulties maturing. This caused fans to think that she was talking about her husband.

Chance and Kirsten were familiar with each other in their childhood, but they didn't officially meet until the South by Southwest Film Festival in 2012. They started dating soon after and got engaged six years afterwards. The couple got married in 2019.
