Delroy Lindo joins Michael B. Jordan in Ryan Cooglers Vampire film
The actor, who has recently appeared in Hulu's Unprisoned and Netflix's The Harder They Fall, has agreed to join Michael B. Jordan in an untitled supernatural horror thriller directed by Ryan Coogler for Warner Bros.
Not much information is available about that project, and the details that have been reported are still waiting to be confirmed by either the studio or Coogler. According to insiders, the feature is based in the Jim Crow-era South and may include vampires as well as Southern supernatural traditions. Jordan might be playing two roles, portraying twin brothers.
Lindo's body is inside the coffin, and according to one source, there is a musical aspect to it. The movie is getting ready to start filming in New Orleans this spring, and they have just announced that Jack O'Connell has been cast as the villain.
Coogler penned the screenplay and is also overseeing production through his company Proximity Media. Zinzi Coogler and Sev Ohanian are also involved in the production.
The project, first reported by The Hollywood Reporter in January, sparked a competitive bidding war in the winter. Warner Bros. emerged as the winner with a unique deal that includes some of the movie's rights returning to the filmmaker over the next few decades.
The studio has scheduled the release of the movie for March 7, 2025. It will also be shown in Imax theaters.
