CBS The Equalizer is getting a spin-off
Queen Latifah's hit CBS series, The Equalizer, is expanding its universe with a potential spinoff. Deadline reports that the show is introducing two new characters in Episode 516, set to air in Spring 2025. This episode will explore their interactions with Queen Latifah's character, Robyn McCall, and effectively serve as a backdoor pilot for the spinoff, though CBS hasn't officially labeled it as such. Joseph C. Wilson, the writer of this pivotal episode, is also slated to executive produce the potential new series.
CBS is searching for actors to fill two guest-starring roles in its popular drama series, The Equalizer. The network is seeking a "skilled younger female martial artist, weapons expert, and criminologist with a secret origin story" who seeks help from the show's protagonist, McCall. Additionally, they are looking for an "older male former top CIA operative."
Both roles have the potential to transition into series regular positions, paving the way for a proposed spinoff series. The Equalizer, currently in its fifth season, is a reboot of the original 1980s TV series and the inspiration for the film series starring Denzel Washington.
