Beyond The Gates brings in Keith D. Robinson for recast

Beyond the Gates, the blockbuster new CBS soap, has announced its first cast shakeup, with Keith D. Robinson joining the show.
Robinson will succeed Maurice Johnson as Ted Richardson. Deadline initially reported on the casting shift. There is no indication yet on when Johnson's final episode will broadcast or when Robinson will make his debut.

While there is no precise basis for this choice. Recasting is not a new concept in daytime television. For decades, actors have been swapping out owing to scheduling issues, creative alterations, or contract changes. Given that Beyond the Gates is still in its early stages, it's not surprising that at least one part will change as the show finds its footing. So, while this is the first casting change since the show's launch, it's certainly not out of character.

According to the character's official description, Ted is "Dr. Nicole Dupree Richardson's husband and father of Martin and Kat." Ted is a great plastic surgeon with an ultra-exclusive private practice, and ladies want to have their faces and bodies in what they refer to as his blessed hands. Ted has established an exquisite life with his wife, whom he loves passionately, and sleeps soundly at night, confident that his history would never interrupt his perfect world."

Beyond the Gates is set in a Maryland suburb outside of Washington, D.C., within one of America's most affluent Black counties. It revolves on the "Duprees," a powerful and prestigious multi-generational family that is the exact definition of Black royalty. But beyond these immaculate gates and beautiful, groomed gardens lie juicy secrets and scandals ready to be revealed. Those who reside outside these gates keep a careful eye on things. These are the settings in which our characters live, love, work, and play. Both successful and unsuccessful individuals strive to manage life. "Some with more grace than others."

The cast of Beyond the Gates includes Tamara Tunie, Clifton Davis, Daphnee Duplaix, Karla Mosley, Alex Alegria, Lauren Buglioli, Brandon Claybon, Timon Kyle Durrett, Sean Freeman, Ben Gavin, Marquita Goings, Jibre Hordges, Jen Jacob, Trisha Mann-Grant, Mike Manning, RhonniRose Mantilla, Ambyr Michelle, Colby Muhammad, and Arielle Prepetit.
