Tracy Morgan is Back on Tv

Tracy Morgan is returning to television with Crutch, a spinoff of The Neighborhood.
The actor and comedian will executive produce and star in the series as Francois "Frank" Crutchfield, CBS Studios announced in a press release on Monday, May 6. The series will stream on Paramount Plus.
The protagonist is defined as a "Harlem widower whose empty nest plans are put on hold after his millennial son and free-spirited daughter move back home."

Via Morgan, “Crutch will be navigating the ups and downs of having his kids and grandkids back under one roof, and you know if I am doing this, there will be plenty of laughs along the way.”

A Bird and a Bear Entertainment, founded by Cedric The Entertainer, produced the half-hour comedy.

“I’m excited to be expanding our The Neighborhood universe, by producing a show with the legendary comedian Tracy Morgan,” said Cedric. “This new character is the close cousin to my character Calvin Butler and you will enjoy some of their many similarities.”

Cedric is an executive producer, alongside Eric C. Rhone and Owen Smith, who wrote the pilot script and will also serve as showrunner. Aaron Kaplan of Kapital Entertainment and Wendi Trilling of TrillTV serve as additional executive producers.

Smith previously served as showrunner and executive producer for The Last O.G., which featured Morgan and aired on TBS from 2018 to 2021.

Crutch is set to begin manufacturing later this year.
