Maya will reprise her role as Harris on SNL come fall

In honor of the program's historic 50th season, Maya Rudolph will reprise her role as Vice President Kamala Harris on Saturday Night Live on NBC.
Rudolph will be a guest on the program for the duration of the 2024 presidential contest.
According to Variety, the third season of Rudolph's comedy series on Apple TV+, Loot, is presently in development, but it has been put back to give the actress and comic more time for her SNL obligations.
Produced by Lorne Michaels' Broadway Video and Universal Television, Loot is a comedy sketch show.

According to Variety, Rudolph will portray Harris in a presidential debate against Donald Trump, played by SNL castmate James Austin Johnson.
Rudolph's role as Harris on Saturday Night Live earned her an Emmy Award in the past. In December 2019, she made her acting debut as the vice president. Her performance as Harris in the presidential debate earned her an Emmy for guest actor in a comedy series in 2020.
Rudolph described Harris on Saturday Night Live by coining the moniker FUNT (America's Fun Aunt).
Harris wrote, "YESSSSSSSSSSENATOR!!!" in response to a tweet made by SNL and Harris on X (previously Twitter) in 2019. A privilege to try to match your level of coolness.
From 2017 until 2021, Harris served as a senator from California before winning the vice presidential nomination.
In 2000, Rudolph made his debut on the NBC sketch comedy program. In addition to her work on Saturday Night Live, she has voiced characters in animated movies such as Luca, The Angry Birds Movie, Big Hero 6, and Sisters. She has also acted in films like as Life of the Party, Sisters, and Disenchanted.
In Netflix's Big Mouth, Rudolph has also provided the voice of Connie the Hormone Monstress. She has won Emmys for her efforts on the animated series, including one in 2021 for best character voice-over performance.

It's SNL back on September 28.
