Brendan Paul Diddy’s Alleged Runner Charged with Felony Possession
An individual who served as a personal assistant to Sean "Diddy" Combs has been officially charged with the possession of illegal drugs.
During his arraignment hearing in Miami on Wednesday, April 24th, Brendan Paul, aged 25, entered a plea of not guilty, as reported by Local 10 News.
Lawyer Brian Bieber submitted the plea on behalf of Paul, who was not present in person during the arraignment. The reason for his absence at the hearing is ambiguous.
“We entered Brendan’s plea of not guilty in court today. We will be dealing with this case in the courtroom, not the court of public opinion,” Bieber shared in a statement to the TV station.
According to court documents, Paul was originally faced with two felony charges; however, one count of possession of a controlled substance was dismissed.
Accuser Rodney "Lil Rod" Jones filed a sexual assault lawsuit against Combs in February, in which Paul was described as the alleged drug "mule" of the music mogul.
The lawsuit claimed that Paul is involved in the acquisition and distribution of drugs and guns belonging to Mr. Combs.
Paul was apprehended on March 25 at Miami-Opa Locka Executive Airport during a sex trafficking inquiry involving Combs.
The authorities stated that substances suspected to be narcotics were discovered in Paul's luggage.
The police report obtained by Local 10 News alleged Paul "had the contraband inside of his personal travel bags, which he claimed prior to being searched."
TMZ shared footage of Combs walking around the identical Florida airport on March 25 while Homeland Security officers conducted raids at the magnate's residences in Miami and Los Angeles. The news outlet stated that Diddy was detained by federal authorities at the airport, however, he was not taken into custody.
Two of the hip-hop mogul's children were briefly taken into custody at his residence in Los Angeles during the police operation, although no formal charges were filed.
Aaron Dyer, the attorney representing Combs, alleged that the actions of the federal agents amounted to a “witch hunt.”
“There is no excuse for the excessive show of force and hostility exhibited by authorities or the way his children and employees were treated.” Dyer said in a statement. “This unprecedented ambush — paired with an advanced, coordinated media presence — leads to a premature rush to judgment of Mr. Combs and is nothing more than a witch hunt based on meritless accusations made in civil lawsuit.”
Paul, hailing from Ohio, formerly possessed a promising potential.
According to Syracuse.com, he participated in college basketball at Syracuse University for two seasons in upstate New York before transferring to Fairmont State University in West Virginia in 2020.
