A regular exits FBI
After four years on FBI, a series regular will leave the crime drama during its seventh season.
Katherine Renee Kane, who has played Special Agent Tiffany Wallace since season 3, is departing the show, according to entertainment news website TVLine on Monday.
Kane will make an appearance in at least one episode of season 7 before leaving, according to the site.
Neither the actress nor CBS provided an official reason for her departure.
On Monday night on X (previously Twitter), fans of the series expressed "shock" and labeled Kane's departure as "soul crushing".
"I am in shock. I can't believe my favorite partnership has ended. Tiff has matured so much (we wish we could have learned more!) and her concentration episodes are among the greatest. Katherine Renee Kane has been a master of acting these past few seasons, and she will be missed. @TiffNScola wrote, "#FBICBS."
"Losing Tiffany Wallace is heartbreaking. Being able to witness her development from season 3 to now has been incredible, and she's a character. I am deeply in love with [her]. I hope Katherine Renee Kane ends up in a happy place with lots of chances. @ameliaszillace tweeted, "#FBICBS."
"I am in tears as I say this, but thank you, Katherine, for bringing Tiffany Wallace to life every Tuesday night since 2020. Seeing someone who looks like me, with natural hair, is strong, confident, kind, and humorous, means a lot to me and will always do. "Forever, my favorite #FBICBS character," commented @tiffzidan.
Kane joined the police procedural in 2020, after the departure of Ebonée Noel. Prior to joining the successful series, Kane appeared in the 2018 film short The Bag and the 2017 film Live a Little.
FBI was created by Dick Wolf of the Law & Order series and is centered on Federal Bureau of Investigation officers in the New York office.
Missy Peregrym, Zeeko Zaki, Jeremy Sisto, Alana de la Garza, John Boyd, Vedette Lim, and Taylor Anthony Miller co-star in the CBS series, which premiered in 2018.
The seventh season of FBI premieres Tuesday, October 15 at 8/7c on CBS.
