Teen is Billie Maximoff
In the sixth episode titled "Agatha All Along," the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) delves deeper into the origins of Billy Maximoff, strengthening the connection to "WandaVision." This episode addresses several mysteries while hinting at upcoming revelations in the final three episodes.
In the previous episode, "Agatha All Along" episode 5, Teen was confirmed to be Billy Maximoff, the son of Scarlet Witch. This theory had gained traction since the show's marketing began, and Joe Locke's inclusion in the cast of "Agatha All Along" provided substantial evidence that the Young Avenger known as Wiccan would be introduced following "WandaVision."
In the finale of "WandaVision," Wanda dissolved the Hex surrounding Westview, causing her twins, Billy and Tommy, and Vision to vanish. In the sixth episode of the series, titled "Agatha All Along," these pivotal moments in Wanda's story become crucial for William Kaplan, also known as Billy Maximoff. While the other witches from Agatha All Along's narrative take a secondary role, this episode focuses on Billy's journey, exploring his origins within the Marvel Cinematic Universe, his connection to the Scarlet Witch, and his quest on The Witches' Road.
In the sixth episode of "Agatha All Along," the story begins with young William Kaplan celebrating his Bar Mitzvah at the age of 13. However, the festivities take a mysterious turn when William visits an entertainment stall run by Lilia Calderu. Lilia's ominous prediction of William's lifeline being split in two leaves him shaken, and he quickly dismisses the seemingly phony witch's claims. However, his coming-of-age ceremony is abruptly interrupted when the citizens of Eastview, including those attending the Bar Mitzvah, are ordered to return home due to an incident involving the enigmatic Westview anomaly.
After Wanda's Hex suddenly contracted, William's parents were distracted while driving home, leading to a tragic car accident. William, who bore the brunt of the impact, succumbed to his injuries as Wanda's Hex dissolved entirely. Miraculously, he regained consciousness, uttering "Tommy," which marked the pivotal transformation of William Kaplan into Billy Maximoff. The end of episode 6, "Agatha All Along," provided insight into how this aligned with Billy's Marvel Comics origins.
In the final scene of "Agatha All Along," Agatha, after her unexpected encounter in a mudbath, revealed to Billy that the soul created by Wanda found a new host after the collapse of the Hex. This soul found an empty vessel in the body of the recently deceased William Kaplan. Notably, Marvel Comics mirrors this narrative, explaining that Billy Maximoff's soul was reincarnated into another body, specifically that of William Kaplan.
