”Fox Television President Michael Thorn expressed his excitement about the audience's embrace of Season One of "Doc," and praised Barbie and Hank for their outstanding work on the emotionally powerful series. He stated that renewing the show for a second season was an easy decision due to the incredible team, partners at Sony, and the exceptional cast led by Molly Parker.
“We’re ecstatic Doc has been picked up for a second season – a testament to the exceptional writing, captivating performances from our talented cast, and the incredible reception from audiences,” said Katherine Pope, President, Sony Pictures Television Studios. “We’re so grateful to our partners at Fox for their unwavering support as we continue making more episodes of this show!”
Doc, a co-production by Sony Pictures Television and Fox Entertainment Studios, with Barbie Kligman as showrunner and executive producer, follows the journey of Dr. Amy Larsen, a driven and intelligent physician, as she grapples with the aftermath of a brain injury that has wiped out the last eight years of her memory. The series delves into the complexities of her personal and professional relationships as she navigates a new reality at Westside Hospital, where she was once the Chief of Internal and Family Medicine. Hank Steinberg and Erwin Stoff also serve as executive producers on the show, which is inspired by a true story and based on the Italian series, Doc — Nelle tue mani.
