Dawn Robinson reveals she’s been living in a car

Dawn Robinson, a former member of the famed 1990s group En Vogue as well as Lucy Pearl, has been promised an honest day's work by her ex-husband.
Robinson, 58, revealed on her YouTube page earlier this week that she has been homeless and living in her car for the past three years, shocking many fans and music industry professionals alike.

Bad recording contracts, along with rumors that Robinson had an ego issue and lived beyond her means, caused the proud singer to lose her home and go back in with her parents in Las Vegas. But Robinson claimed that the environment within the residence made living there uncomfortable, so she took to the streets.

This is not like, ‘Oh my God, poor Dawn. She’s living in her car. It’s terrible. Oh, woe is me,'” Robinson explained on her YouTube page. “I’m learning about who I am. I’m learning myself as a person, as a woman.”During this time, Robinson said she fell enamored with the "car culture" and opted to live in her vehicle for the previous three years.

Robinson's ex-husband, Andre Allen, whom she married from 2003 to 2010, is providing her a full-time job with benefits and PTO to help her get off the streets. Despite the fact that the marriage ended in tumultuous circumstances, Allen stated that he does not want to see another famous singer perish on the streets if he can avoid it. He replied he'd seen too many already.

Despite the fact that the music industry was very nice to Allen — he won two Grammy Awards, multiple Gold records, and continues to collect royalties as a solo artist and member of the R&B quartet IV Xample — he left music for the hospitality industry, which has been very profitable for him.

Allen told TMZ that leaving music saved his finances and life. He surrendered his life to God, found a new fiancée, and now earns more money from Hilton hotels than he did in the music industry.

The ex-husband stated that Robinson can start her financial recovery with the job, which he did not detail in terms of type or salary, and continue to work in the music industry in her spare time.

Robinson has not responded publicly to her ex-husband's offer.
