Beauty in Black Trailer

The first teaser trailer for Beauty in Black features two ladies from very different backgrounds who become entwined in one other's lives.

On Thursday, September 12, Netflix published a preview video for Tyler Perry's debut Netflix series.

The plot revolves around Kimmie (Taylor Polidore Williams), a dancer who was recently driven out of her home by her mother, and Mallory (Crystle Stewart), a wealthy businesswoman from a cosmetics dynasty.

"Her family owns it all. Kimmie says, "I wonder what her life is like."

Meanwhile, Mallory is pictured dressed in a power suit and getting into a chauffeured sedan.

Things get sensational when the women's lives converge.

Richard Lawson, Debbi Morgan, Amber Reign Smith, Ricco Ross, Terrell Carter, Shannon Wallace, and Bryan Tanaka round out the cast.

Tyler Perry is the series' creator, director, writer, and executive producer.

Tyler Perry Studios' producers are Will Areu, Angi Bones, and Tony L. Strickland.

Perry signed a TV production contract with Netflix in February, and Black in Beauty was one of the first shows to be greenlit.

In October 2023, the filmmaker secured a first-look, multi-year movie agreement with the streaming giant.

Beauty in Black's first season consists of eight hour-long episodes and will launch on Netflix on October 24.

Netflix and Perry have yet to set a release date for the remaining eight episodes, or Part 2.
