9-1-1 renewed for season 8

ABC issued a formal statement on Tuesday, April 2, shortly before the highly-anticipated release of the 100th episode of the initial responder drama.

The series features Angela Bassett in the role of Athena Grant, Peter Krause as Bobby Nash, Jennifer Love Hewitt as Maddie Buckley, Oliver Stark as Evan "Buck" Buckley, Kenneth Choi as Howie "Chimney" Han, Aisha Hinds as Henrietta "Hen" Wilson, Ryan Guzman as Eddie Diaz, and Gavin McHugh as Christopher Diaz.

In May 2023, after Fox announced that it would not proceed with the program, the television series 9-1-1 relocated to ABC.

“Looking forward to continue dancing with 911 on abc. Thanks for the love every! This feels real good ,” Angela Bassett stated on her instagram.

The season 7 premiere was postponed due to the labor strikes in Hollywood.

According to Nielsen data released by ABC, the episode attracted 8.8 million total viewers on ABC, Hulu, and digital platforms in the live + 3 days measurement category when it was broadcast on March 14. It was the program's most highly viewed multiplatform episode since November of 2022.

Produced in collaboration with Ryan Murphy Television and Brad Falchuk Teley-Vision, 9-1-1 was created by Ryan Murphy, Brad Falchuk, and Tim Minear under the production of 20th Television. Angela Bassett, Peter Krause, and John J. Gray, Brad Buecker, Kristen Reidel, Juan Carlos Coto, and Lyndsey Beaulieu function as executive producers. Minear also fulfills the role of showrunner.

Episode 100 will be a collaboration with ABC's The Bachelor, focusing on a crisis that occurs at the mansion where the reality dating show takes place. The episode will be broadcast on Thursday, April 4th at 8 p.m. Eastern Time/Pacific Time on ABC, and will be available for streaming the following day on Hulu.
